In a significant advancement for road connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, has allocated Rs 1,782 crore for the construction of a pivotal road project. This funding approval pertains to the development of an 82-kilometer-long greenfield road, spanning from Pango to Jorging in the Upper Siang district of the northeastern state. Gadkari articulated that this project, comprising packages I and II, aims to facilitate seamless and secure traffic flow.
The primary objective is to establish year-round connectivity to villages in the region, thereby acting as a catalyst for socio-economic development in the hilly areas of the district. Minister Gadkari emphasized the strategic importance of the road, foreseeing its key role in significantly reducing travel time for security forces. This, in turn, is anticipated to enhance their efficiency in reaching border areas.
