Indore Development Authority greenlights two residential schemes

Earlier this week, the board of the Indore Development Authority (IDA) approved two ambitious projects, namely the Town Planning Scheme 9 and the Town Planning Scheme 10. In addition, they changed the land use of a large plot to make way for the construction of a convention centre with a seating capacity of 10,000 on the Super Corridor. The meeting was chaired by Jaypal Singh Chawda and attended by important officials like Indore collector Ilayaraja T, Indore Municipal Corporation commissioner Pratibha Pal, and the authority’s CEO RP Ahirwar.

Chawda mentioned that the IDA had received 599 claims and objections related to TPS 9 and TPS 10, but they have been addressed and resolved. Therefore, the board has given the green light for the development of both schemes. The proposals have been sent to the state government for final approval.

According to Chawda, the New Tilak Nagar area will still be considered a part of TPS 9, but the IDA will not take possession of the land. Instead, they will impose development charges on property owners. The specific amount of the development charge has yet to be determined, but it is anticipated to be approximately between Rs 200-Rs 300 per square foot.

The IDA plans to develop TPS 9 on 263 hectares of land located in the Bicholi Hapsi, Kanadia, and Tigariya Badshah areas, and they received a total of 490 claims and objections. Among these claims and objections, about 100 were related to New Tilak Nagar.

Meanwhile, TPS 10 is proposed on 221 hectares of land in Bada Bangadada, Palakhedi, Tigariya Badshah, and Limbodagari village, and the IDA received 109 claims and objections related to it.

During the meeting, the board also approved the appointment of a consultant for the Read-on App Startup Park project, which will cover an area of approximately 20 acres. The board chairman stated that the foundation stone for the Startup Park will likely be laid in the next three months.

Additionally, the board has decided to convert a residential plot in Noida on the Super Corridor (Kkasra number 322, 324) into a commercial plot to build a convention centre. According to Chawda, the first phase of the swimming pool being built in Scheme 94 (sector F) has been finished. Additionally, the board has approved Rs 29.5 lakh for the facility to obtain the approval of the International Swimming Federation to host international-level sporting events there.
