Coca-Cola and Burger King: A new global alliance on the horizon

Burger King, the second-largest burger chain in India, and Coca-Cola, a global beverage powerhouse, are currently in negotiations to forge an exclusive partnership by the upcoming quarter of this year. This strategic move marks a significant shift for Burger King, which has been in association with PepsiCo since 2014. Coca-Cola's aggressive promotion of "COKE WITH MEALS," in collaboration with food delivery giants like Zomato and Swiggy, encompassing approximately 14,000 restaurants, has piqued Burger King's interest in partnering with the beverage brand to expand its reach.

Despite the presence of other beverages like Thums Up, Sprite, Minute Maid, and Georgia coffee in various food establishments, Coca-Cola has maintained its unique position. The exclusive partnership between Burger King and Coca-Cola is poised to boost sales, both in dining out and home deliveries. This impending collaboration signals the end of a decade-long partnership with PepsiCo, as Burger King embarks on a new journey with Coca-Cola. This partnership not only promises increased foot traffic and sales for Burger King but also provides visibility to Coca-Cola in over 391 Burger King outlets across India.

Coca-Cola's stature as a beverage giant, already in partnership with McDonald's, is set to extend its presence to Burger King, further intensifying the competition. Conversely, PepsiCo, which had a 10-year deal with Burger King, will now cede its place to Coca-Cola.

While Burger King and Coca-Cola have already joined forces in the United States, this negotiation marks a significant shift from Burger King's previous alliance with PepsiCo. The partnership between these fast-food and beverage giants aims to extend their reach to the homes of people in 54 countries across Europe, Latin America, and the Asia Pacific region. This collaboration is set to offer a harmonious blend of the best burger experience with the finest beverages on a global scale.

Although PepsiCo may no longer provide beverages, it will continue to serve Aquafina mineral bottled water to over 8,000 Burger King outlets in the United States. This international pact between Burger King and Coca-Cola, the fast-food chain and the Atlanta-based soft drink giant, is poised to delight customers worldwide, offering their favourite burgers alongside their preferred beverages.
