The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath recently announced that the state government is prepared to establish colonies for residents living in embankment areas affected by floods who wish to relocate to safer regions. He conducted aerial and on-ground surveys of flood-affected areas in Barabanki and Gonda districts, assuring affected people of government assistance and relief efforts.
In response to the flooding crisis, Chief Minister Adityanath expressed the government's willingness to support those residing in embankment areas by offering relocation options to safer regions. He stated that if there is unanimous consent, the government will initiate the creation of well-planned colonies to accommodate these residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
To address the persistent issue of river erosion in flood-prone areas, the irrigation department has been directed to establish immediate and comprehensive protective measures. This proactive approach underscores the government's commitment to mitigating the impact of natural disasters on vulnerable communities.
Chief Minister Adityanath highlighted the government's preparations for the flood situation, emphasizing that directives were issued to local representatives, in-charge ministers, and Lucknow-level officials to take necessary measures in anticipation of flooding. Currently, approximately 721 villages across 21 districts in the state are affected by the floods, underscoring the scale of the challenge.

During his visit to Barabanki, Chief Minister Adityanath inspected flood-affected areas in Lalpur Karauta village of Ramnagar tehsil. He distributed relief materials to affected residents and engaged in discussions with them to gain a first-hand understanding of their situation. Notably, individuals whose homes have been damaged in the floods will receive housing under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, and compensation will be provided for partially damaged houses.
In Gonda, Chief Minister Adityanath extended his support to flood-affected people in Palhapur village, Colonelganj. He conducted an on-site inspection and issued directives to expedite relief and rescue operations in the region. Gonda, with twenty-three affected villages, is facing significant challenges due to the floods.
During the distribution of relief materials, Chief Minister Adityanath reassured the people of the government's unwavering support, particularly on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, underscoring his commitment to ensuring their safety and well-being.
