Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation to launch an IT Park in Indore

The Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) in Indore has announced plans for a new IT Park spanning approximately 1.10 lakh square meters, which will be available for lease and rental to tech companies. The new IT Park will be located on the Crystal IT Park campus. Technology professionals are hopeful for state-of-the-art facilities and easily accessible workspaces to create a supportive environment for the IT/ITES industry.

Several IT professionals spoke to the press discussing their views and expectations regarding the IT Park. Some suggested that the park should have designated areas that could act as startup incubators which would allow them to work together to create inventive solutions to shared problems. Other suggestions included offering shared equipment and resources such as office supplies, meeting rooms, auditoriums and other such necessary amenities needed for an IT set-up. Many recommended co-working spaces given the industry’s culture of hybrid working and freelancers.

Some company owners had a novelle suggestion of creating an auditorium or space for companies to showcase their latest products, hold launches, large conferences, and other such events. A group of individuals with technical expertise proposed utilizing professional services to assist new businesses in safeguarding their data and information against cybersecurity risks.

The IT Park to be developed will have a saleable area of approximately 65,000 square meters and the anticipated construction cost is around Rs 393 crore. The IT Park will include additional amenities such as gyms, meditation rooms, and other facilities for the benefit of the employees. Public speakers at the launch event recommended creating a facility that includes childcare services for working mothers and a welcoming environment for employees with disabilities.

Indore has been experiencing significant growth in the tech and startup sector, thanks to the prevailing policies and ecosystem. The new IT Park is expected to further enhance the city's capabilities and attract investments, with cutting-edge facilities to meet the needs of the companies.
