The state of Haryana introduces a website to authenticate property details

Last week, the Haryana Urban Local Bodies (ULB) department launched a property verification portal to help individuals verify and authenticate their property deals. The department took this step after receiving several complaints from residents about difficulties in correcting their property IDs and experiencing unreasonable behaviour from the authorities. The ULB minister Kamal Gupta inaugurated the portal from his office. The portal will provide residents with easy access to their property information and allow them to apply for any necessary corrections.

Officials have announced that the deadline for submitting correction requests through the portal is May 15. After completing the necessary paperwork and procedures, the requested corrections will be made. The portal will provide relief to numerous owners of residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial properties situated in 88 municipal bodies throughout the state.

There were reports of staff in civic organizations behaving in a domineering and unhelpful manner, which made it difficult for residents to carry out property transfers, liens, or disposals. This problem has frequently been brought up by opposition parties to criticize the BJP-JJP government, and even some members of the ruling alliance raised the issue during the assembly session.

The government of Haryana has officially established time limits for eight additional services offered by the urban local bodies department to citizens under the Right to Service Act of 2014. Officials have stated that building plans for original municipal limits, town planning schemes, improvement trust schemes, rehabilitation schemes, regularised and notified colonies for all plot sizes and other uses (excluding institutional and commercial use/sites of 1,000 sq meters or more) with no composition offence will be authorized within 20 days after receiving complete documents.

Officials also mentioned that building plans within the original municipal limits for commercial or institutional purposes on sites ranging from 1,000 to 5,000 square meters will be authorized within 60 days of receiving all necessary documents. Additionally, building plans for sites of 5,000 square meters and above will be approved within the same time frame. Furthermore, building plans for sites of up to 5 acres in the Gurgaon and Faridabad municipal corporations with no history of violations will be sanctioned within 20 days.
