Fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has unveiled plans for its first branded residential skyscraper located in Miami's Brickell neighborhood. In collaboration with New York architecture firm Studio Sofield, the luxury Italian brand will develop a 90-storey tower named 888 Brickell.
The tower will reach 1,049 feet high (320 metres), the same height as the city's in-progress first supertall skyscraper, the Waldorf Astoria Miami.
888 Brickell will feature 259 Dolce & Gabbana designed residences as well as restaurants, bars, and amenities like pools, event spaces, and a spa. Open-air amenities will be located atop the base and on the rooftop, which also has a bronze rectangular cap.
Renderings show a slender tower with a rectangular base and double-height windows wrapping the facade. The facade is being designed by Studio Sofield.
The modernist design was meant to evoke mid-century Milan style and fashion. Ivory travertine and matte black steel beams will be used on the exterior, with gold and bronze highlights in between.
Dolce & Gabbana collaborated with Milan-based studio M2Atelier on the interiors for the project, with renderings picturing dark, moody public spaces outfitted with metallic highlights and animal-print furniture. The signature hues of Dolce & Gabbana - black, gold, and red - are expertly interwoven into the interior design, culminating in a luxurious and cohesive ambience
Renderings depict a double-height lobby clad in black marble and a grand staircase. Another event space will host a DJ booth and seating areas. Bars and restaurants will feature a harmonious blend of sumptuous textures, including black and white marbles, cast glass, velvet and polished nickel.
Renderings of the residences show spaces clad in white marble, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows with bronze accents in between alongside a curving staircase. Dolce & Gabbana aims to seamlessly integrate owners' spaces with those that can be utilized by hotel guests privately. The project is expected to be completed in 2028.
The project is being developed by JDS Development Group, which is also the developer of the Mercedes Benz residential tower nearby. Bentley-branded residences were also recently unveiled on Miami's oceanfront.
These towers join a number of skyscrapers completed and in-progress in the city in recent years, including the Aston Martin residences by architects Bodas Miani Anger, the upcoming 70-story Okan Tower by local architecture firm Behar Font & Partners, and the 75-story Baccarat Residences by Arquitectonica.
888 Brickell will help further establish Miami as a global destination for luxury living and hospitality. As the first residential skyscraper to bear the prestigious Dolce & Gabbana name, it aims to set a new standard for design-led living. With its prime location and visionary collaboration between Dolce & Gabbana, Studio Sofield, and JDS Development Group, 888 Brickell is set to become a landmark that enhances both the city's skyline and reputation as a hub for ultra-luxury real estate.
