Yamuna Expressway authority plans five industrial parks near Noida airport

Officials from the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) have revealed plans to develop five industrial parks, including one dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs), near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar. These plans also involve acquiring approximately 600 acres of land for the purpose, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The Authority has designated YEIDA Sector 10 along the Yamuna Expressway, linking Greater Noida with historical cities such as Mathura and Agra, as the site for these industrial parks. Among the industrial parks slated for development near the Noida International Airport are those focused on electric vehicles, plastic processing, footwear manufacturing, handicrafts, and a transport hub.
A senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, informed Moneycontrol that the Uttar Pradesh state government has instructed the Gautam Budh Nagar administration to initiate the land acquisition process. The proposed industrial hub in Sector 10 aligns with the masterplan, aiming to capitalise on its proximity to the upcoming greenfield airport and its accessibility via the Yamuna Expressway.
The official emphasised that Sector 10's strategic location makes it an ideal destination for various industries and manufacturing units. Specifically, the EV Park planned for Sector 10 is expected to attract companies involved in manufacturing electric vehicles and related components.
Regarding the land acquisition process, the official noted that a notification empowering the Gautam Budh Nagar administration to expedite the process was issued by the Uttar Pradesh government on February 4. The acquisition, totaling 600 acres, has undergone a social impact assessment study conducted by Gautam Buddha University.
To ensure transparency, public feedback will be solicited under Section 15 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation, and Resettlement Act, 2013. Additionally, the public is advised against unauthorised transactions involving the designated land.
Upon completion of formalities and compliance with regulations, land compensation distribution will commence, paving the way for the transfer of acquired land to YEIDA for industrial development purposes.
YEIDA officials expressed optimism about completing the land allocation and development process by 2024, aiming to establish the industrial parks and requisite amenities in Sector 10 as part of the region's economic expansion strategy.
