Sobha Community Home Project provides free housing to women-led families

Established in 1994 by PNC Menon and Sobha Menon, the Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust is making significant strides in philanthropy through its Sobha Community Home Project, "Griha Sobha 2024." This initiative is aimed at providing secure, safe, and completely free housing to 220 women-led underprivileged families in Palakkad district, addressing the prevalent issue of inadequate housing faced by economically disadvantaged families in India.
The recent inauguration event marked a milestone in the project, with the handover of keys for the first set of 100 homes. Additionally, the foundation stone was laid for another 120 homes, contributing to the commitment of providing a total of 1000 homes to women from resource-limited families. Notably, 13 landless families were provided with 5 cents of land each, upon which their homes will be constructed as part of this initiative.
The event witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Sobha Menon, Trustee of the Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, and Ravi Menon, Chairman of Sobha Limited. State Ministers, MLAs, MPs, leaders across political parties, and various eminent dignitaries also attended the ceremony. Importantly, the occasion served as the launch platform for the Sobha CSR website, highlighting the organization's numerous projects and initiatives that contribute to holistic social development.
PNC Menon, the founder of the Sobha Group and the visionary behind the Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, emphasized their commitment to transforming lives through holistic social development, starting with the provision of housing security.
Through its Trust initiatives, Sobha Limited continues to make a meaningful and sustainable impact on the lives of the economically weaker sections, demonstrating its unwavering dedication to giving back to society. The Griha Sobha 2024 initiative is not only providing physical shelters but also fostering a sense of security, stability, and hope for a better future for the beneficiaries.
In conclusion, the Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust's commitment to social welfare, exemplified through Griha Sobha 2024, reflects the organization's ethos of corporate social responsibility and its profound impact on the communities it serves.
