PM Narendra Modi to virtually inaugurate 131,454 housing units in Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to virtually inaugurate and conduct the ceremony for 131,454 housing units in Gujarat this Saturday. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and State BJP President C R Paatil will join the state-level event in Deesa, North Gujarat. According to a government statement on Friday, beneficiaries from all 182 assembly constituencies will participate, engaging virtually with the PM during the event.

The announcement mentioned that attendees from 115 rural assembly constituencies and 67 urban assembly constituencies will be present for the occasion. Gujarat stands out as one of the leading states in the nation for implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). Housing for every citizen is one of the objectives of Viksit Bharat@2047.

According to the statement, a total of 13.42 lakh housing units have been built under the PMAY in the state so far. Among these, 8.28 lakh units have been completed under the urban PMAY, and 5.14 lakh under the rural PMAY initiative.

The statement mentioned that during the current fiscal year, over 100,000 housing units have been built in the state under the urban PMAY initiative. Additionally, it outlined a plan to allocate provisions for 65,000 housing units in urban areas for the fiscal year 2024-25.

With Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and State BJP President C R Paatil attending, beneficiaries from all constituencies engage virtually with the PM. Gujarat’s commitment to housing, reflecting Viksit Bharat@2047’s vision, is evident with 13.42 lakh PMAY units already built, including 100,000 this fiscal year. A further 65,000 units are earmarked for urban areas in the 2024-25 financial year, showing the state’s ongoing efforts to provide housing for its citizens.
