Mahindra Logistics invests INR 170 crore in a warehousing facility in Phaltan, Pune

Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) has embarked on the construction of a state-of-the-art warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune, covering an expansive area of 6.5 lakh sq. ft. This facility is designed in two phases, with the first phase spanning 3.5 lakh sq. ft. scheduled to commence operations by the end of 2024. Positioned strategically in Phaltan, which is in close proximity to key customers in the auto OEM and components sectors, the warehouse will play a pivotal role in MLL's nationwide network of multi-client facilities.

Spanning over 25 acres, the facility will serve as a critical component of Mahindra Logistics' logistics operations, catering to diverse clients in the region. The warehouse will seamlessly integrate with MLL's national network of warehouses, full truck load, and express parcel services, adding substantial value to the expanding multi-client warehousing network across India.

The first phase of the facility has been contracted to a manufacturing customer and is expected to be operational by Q3, 2024-25. Mahindra Logistics' warehouse aligns with stringent sustainability standards, incorporating measures such as decarbonization, the integration of renewable power sources, adherence to green warehousing standards, and active participation in local community development initiatives.

As part of this significant development, Mahindra Logistics Ltd. is committed to allocating resources to skill development initiatives, creating employment opportunities for more than 500 individuals in the region. Collaborating with its partners, the company is set to invest INR 170 crores in capital across multiple phases for the comprehensive development of the new facility and associated infrastructure.

The investment in Phaltan reflects Mahindra Logistics Ltd.'s proactive stance in adapting to the evolving logistics landscape and its dedication to sustainable and efficient logistics operations. The development is expected to contribute significantly to the growth of domestic engineering and manufacturing firms, supported by favorable government policies such as the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
