Marjan Group explores MAK BTR Sustainable Canadian Wood Project in India

The Marjan Group, a prominent business conglomerate in the UAE and a major player in the real estate industry, has shown great interest in the eco-friendly and sustainable construction methods utilizing Canadian Wood. The CEO of Marjan Group, Abdulla Al Abdouli visited the MAK BTR sustainable Canadian Wood Project in Hyderabad to learn about this innovative initiative by MAK Projects. He was accompanied by Harshendra Goyal, Regional Sales Director, and Georgios Karaiskos, the Business Development Manager.

Marjan Group is renowned for its thriving lifestyle destination the Al Marjan Island, which was developed under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. Al Marjan Island is a man-made island located in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

Al Marjan Island covers an area of approximately 2.7 million square meters and is comprised of four interconnected islands. The development of the island began in 2006 and was completed in 2018. The island features a mix of residential, commercial, and hospitality properties, as well as a range of leisure and entertainment facilities. One of the main attractions on Al Marjan Island is its beaches. The island boasts 7.8 kilometres of pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters.

Abdulla Al Abdouli, speaking on behalf of the UAE, emphasized their nation’s serious concern for adverse climate changes worldwide. As the host of COP28, he said the UAE is committed to fulfilling its role as a global convener and supporting sustainability efforts through action and innovation. They are particularly interested in eco-friendly projects that are applicable to their climatic conditions and are impressed with MAK Projects’ expertise in sustainable wooden housing, as well as the appealing aesthetics of their construction. Therefore, they see great potential for collaboration.

During their visit, Abdulla and his delegation had a detailed discussion with H.E Dr. Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, the Promoter and Managing Director of MAK Projects P Ltd., to gain a thorough understanding of this unique wooden construction in tropical climates, which is like the climate in the UAE. The project for sustainable wood construction in BTR Greens is a collaboration between MAK Projects P. Ltd. And Forestry Innovations Investment (FII) India, which is a company owned by the Government of British Columbia, Canada.

MAK Projects Ltd is a real estate development company based in Hyderabad, India. The company was founded in 2004 and has since developed several residential and commercial projects in Hyderabad and other parts of South India. The aim of the MAK BTR project is to introduce sustainable wood solutions to the Indian market and promote the use of Canadian wood as an environmentally friendly building material.

The MAK BTR Sustainable Canadian Wood Project offers a range of Canadian wood products for use in construction, including structural lumber, decking, and siding. The project also provides technical support and training to architects, builders, and developers on the proper use and installation of sustainable wood products.
