Samsung launches a 8,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art experience store in BKC, Mumbai

Samsung recently inaugurated its premium store, Samsung BKC, in Mumbai's Jio World Plaza in Bandra Kurla Complex. The 8,000 sq. ft store, located within 2 km of Apple BKC, is set to redefine the retail experience for tech enthusiasts and premium consumers. Samsung BKC comprises eight lifestyle zones, each showcasing how Samsung's products seamlessly integrate into various aspects of daily life.

As the country's first Samsung O2O (Online-to-Offline) store, Samsung BKC blends the best of the online and offline worlds. The store allows prospective buyers to explore and pre-book the latest Samsung Galaxy S24 line-up, starting January 23. Offering over 1,200 product choices from an online digital catalogue, the store introduces a new era of convenience, with delivery options not limited to Mumbai but extending across the country.

From an immersive mobile gaming experience in the Hobby Room to a home office setup in the Home Office zone, Samsung BKC caters to diverse passions. Customers can transform their homes into art galleries or yoga studios in the Home Atelier, explore an AI-enabled refrigerator in the Home Cafe, and discover the wonders of connected kitchens in the Connected Kitchen zone.

The Intelligent Closet zone demonstrates AI-enabled washing machines, providing insights into home energy management. In the Private Cinema zone, customers can experience a connected device marvel with the 110-inch MicroLED TV. The Mobile Zone at the centre of the store showcases flagship Galaxy devices, including the latest Galaxy S24 series.
Samsung BKC will go beyond product displays; it will host Learn @ Samsung workshops throughout the year, focusing on consumer passion points such as digital art, photography, fitness, and more. For customization enthusiasts, the Creator's Workshop allows customers to personalize their smartphones and consumer electronics products.

Notably, the store offers a preview of global products yet to be launched in India and features an integrated service centre for seamless customer support. Samsung BKC aims to establish long-lasting relationships with customers by providing same-day repair services and complimentary SmartThings setups for those purchasing two or more SmartThings-enabled products.

As we examine the landscape of tech retail experiences, various brands offer different immersive experiences. Apple, renowned for its Genius Bars and product trial areas, focuses on technical support and hands-on engagement. Sony Centre stores feature a blend of product displays and immersive experiences like virtual reality gaming and 3D movies. IKEA globally revolutionizes furniture shopping with room displays, inspiring customers to visualize home setups.

In 2023, when the Apple store launched in BKC, it signed an agreement where 22 competing brands were not allowed to open a store or have advertisements near Apple's first store. According to a report by the Economic Times and CBRE Matrix, some of the brands included in the list were LG, Sony, Bose, Dell, Garmin, Hitachi, HP, Lenovo, Panasonic and Toshiba. A total of 21 names were mentioned which left many to speculate that the 22nd brand could be Samsung. However, Samsung's bold move not only showcases the company's confidence in its brand but also positions itself as a strong contender in the tech retail arena. As both giants compete for consumer attention in Mumbai's Bandra Kurla Complex, the stage is set for a face-off between two tech titans.
