Amitabh Bachchan purchases land worth Rs 14.5 crore in Ayodhya from Abhinandan Lodha

Renowned Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has made a significant real estate move by acquiring a plot in The Sarayu, a distinguished 7-star mixed-use development situated in Ayodhya. Crafted by Mumbai-based developer The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), this upscale enclave is slated for an official launch on January 22, aligning with the inauguration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Industry insiders have unveiled that the acquired plot spans approximately 10,000 square feet and is valued at 14.5 crore. This significant investment underscores the actor's interest in being a part of the evolving landscape of Ayodhya.

Scheduled for completion by March 2028, The Sarayu, sprawling across 51 acres, is strategically located about 15 minutes away from the Ram Temple and 30 minutes from the Ayodhya international airport. Abhinandan Lodha, the Chairman of HoABL, considers Bachchan the "first citizen" of The Sarayu, expressing excitement over the actor's investment, which reflects confidence in the city's economic potential and a deep appreciation for its spiritual heritage.

In a parallel real estate move, Bachchan has leased four commercial units in Mumbai's Oshiwara area to Warner Music India Limited, generating an annual rent of Rs 2.07 crore. This five-year lease, commencing in March 2024, is expected to yield revenue exceeding Rs 11 crore for the entire tenure. Bachchan had initially acquired these units in August 2023 for a total of Rs 29 crore, demonstrating a keen interest in commercial real estate.

Additionally, Bachchan has showcased his generosity by gifting his Juhu bungalow, "Prateeksha," divided into two plots totaling 16,840 sq ft, to his daughter Shweta Nanda. The transfer was formalized through two gift deeds on November 8th, involving a stamp duty payment of Rs 50.65 lakh. The Bachchans own several other properties in the prestigious Juhu area, including their primary residence 'Jalsa' and 'Janak,' which is purportedly used as an office.

Beyond the realm of residential and commercial investments, the Indian film industry's key figures, including Boney Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, and international studios from South Korea and Dubai, are expressing interest in the first phase of the film city near the Jewar airport in Greater Noida. The mega project is to be built on about 1000 acres of land in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Authority Area. Of the total 1000 acres, the first phase of the project will be constructed on 230 acres. Out of the proposed 230 acres of land, 155 acres will be dedicated for industrial use and the remaining 75 acres for commercial use. The estimated cost of the development for 230 acres is Rs 1,500 crore. A Swedish construction firm 'Serneke' has also shown interest to invest Rs 10,000 crores in the project.

In a collaborative venture, Abhinandan Lodha Group and Leela Palaces are set to embark on a monumental project, building a Rs 2000 crore hotel in historically and culturally significant Indian cities, including Ayodhya, Amritsar, Benares, Shimla, and Vrindavan. This ambitious initiative aims to introduce luxury hotels in culturally rich Indian cities, paving the way for transformative developments in the hospitality sector. Overall, Amitabh Bachchan's strategic investments and the collaborative efforts of key players in real estate signify a dynamic and transformative period for India's cultural and economic landscape.
