The Indian government is aiming to develop comprehensive infrastructure for close to 100 industrial clusters in collaboration with state governments, in line with the Gati Shakti Masterplan (NMP) principles. The NMP will identify infrastructure deficiencies within a 150 km to 200 km radius of a cluster and address them in conjunction with the respective state governments.
Under the Gati Shakti initiative, the government has identified 66 large-scale projects that require about Rs 5 lakh crore for development through the Network Planning Group (NPG). Details of the projects, locations and estimated costs can be explored through a link provided by the government.
The Gati Shakti NMP was launched in October 2021, and its goal is to holistically integrate the interventions of various ministries and departments while addressing gaps to ensure seamless movement of people, goods, and services. The plan seeks to bring about sustainable and comprehensive infrastructure development and address key areas such as logistics and transportation.
The Indian government has been taking steps to improve the country's infrastructure for several years, recognizing that it is crucial for economic growth and development. The development of industrial clusters is expected to create job opportunities, stimulate economic growth, and provide more infrastructure to support India's manufacturing sector.
The NMP is a key component of the government's efforts to improve infrastructure, and it is expected to be a catalyst for India's economic growth. The government's focus on infrastructure development is expected to boost the country's GDP and create opportunities for local and foreign investors to participate in India's growth story.
The NMP's integration of various departments and ministries will ensure that infrastructure development is aligned with the country's overall economic goals. The plan will also provide a framework for the government to collaborate with state governments, enabling a more coordinated approach to infrastructure development.
The Indian government's efforts to develop infrastructure are expected to have a significant impact on India's economy and the lives of its citizens. The development of industrial clusters will not only improve infrastructure but also create new jobs and attract more investment into the country. The Gati Shakti initiative is an important step towards achieving the country's economic goals and ensuring a better future for all its citizens.
