Abu Dhabi allocates AED7.6 billion in housing benefits on UAE’s 52nd Union Day

Abu Dhabi has announced the allocation of housing benefits amounting to AED7.6 billion ($2.1 billion) in conjunction with the UAE’s 52nd Union Day. This comprehensive package, benefiting 5,685 individuals across the emirate, encompasses various housing loans totalling AED 6 billion. Among the beneficiaries are 3,714 UAE nationals, with additional provisions exempting low-income retirees and families of individuals who passed away in 2023 from loan repayments, totalling over AED 573 million. The initiative also involves the provision of residential lands and pre-built houses to 1,422 UAE nationals, with a combined value exceeding AED 950 million, inclusive of infrastructure development costs.
This brings the cumulative value of housing benefit packages distributed in Abu Dhabi for 2023 to AED13.44 billion, with a total of 9,292 UAE nationals benefiting from the scheme. The approval for the disbursement of these housing benefits came from Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, following the directives of President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who serves as the Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Commending this significant initiative, Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, emphasized the wise leadership’s dedication. The unwavering backing for the housing sector in the emirate has resulted in realizing the citizens’ aspirations, fulfilling their requirements to ensure a respectable life with family and social stability.
