Dusit International announces inaugural hotel venture in Malaysia's Gamuda Cove

Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the esteemed hotel branch of Thai company Dusit International, has forged a significant partnership with Malaysia's leading property developer, Gamuda Land. This collaboration centres on the management of ASAI Gamuda Cove, marking Dusit's debut in the Malaysian hotel market and Gamuda Land's entry into hotel development. Set to open in the first quarter of 2026, ASAI Gamuda Cove enjoys a prime location near the expansive biodiversity-rich Paya Indah Discovery Wetlands. Spanning 1,530 acres, the Gamuda Cove area incorporates vibrant residential and commercial zones, featuring eco-friendly attractions like the operational SplashMania Waterpark and Discovery Park, all with a keen focus on sustainability and a minimal carbon footprint.
The strategic positioning, a brief 20-minute drive from the Kuala Lumpur airport and 40 minutes from the city centre, enhances accessibility for both local and international travellers, adding to the destination's allure.
This hotel will be the first in Gamuda Cove, Selangor, and mark Dusit’s debut in Malaysia. It will operate under Dusit’s lifestyle brand, ASAI Hotels which is known for connecting travellers with authentic local experiences in vibrant neighbourhoods worldwide. It also stands as the first hotel signed under Dusit's enhanced 'ASAI Tropical' model, specifically tailored for properties in exceptionally beautiful natural surroundings.
Reflecting the successful model of Dusit's active ASAI Hotels in urban settings like Bangkok, Thailand, and Kyoto, Japan, ASAI Tropical hotels will feature compact rooms with essential comforts. The design also includes a communal space and locally-inspired dining settings. What sets this model apart is the broader array of amenities, encompassing an infinity pool, additional dining choices, larger event spaces, and diverse room options, including family-friendly accommodations.
Strategically positioned in the southern sector of Gamuda Cove, ASAI Gamuda Cove aims to foster a sense of community by integrating local identity into its design. Surrounded by lush landscapes, the hotel seamlessly harmonises with nearby wetlands and a vast 90-acre Wetlands Arboretum, offering direct access from the hotel. An e-tram network, a first in Malaysia, will connect guests to key attractions, promoting eco-friendly practices and reducing the carbon footprint. The hotel plans to host regular community-based activities and events, providing guests with a unique immersion into local culture while emphasising responsible tourism.
Dusit International's property portfolio, spanning 19 countries, includes 56 hotels under Dusit Hotels and Resorts, along with approximately 240 luxury villas managed by Elite Havens. The company has plans for over 60 new Dusit Hotels and Resorts globally in the coming years.
