NMC cracks down on property tax defaults, attaches 225 plots in Nagpur

The Deputy Commissioner of the Hanuman Nagar zone, Pushpagandha Bhagat, revealed that among the affected plots, 58 belonged to Shewanta Co-operative Housing Society Limited, 63 to Suvikas Co-operative Housing Society Limited, and 104 to Gangotri Developers, all situated in the Hudkeshwar area. This move comes after the NMC issued notices and warrants to the plot owners, who subsequently failed to fulfil their tax obligations, leading to the attachment of their properties. Bhagat explained that the NMC's action follows a series of notifications and legal procedures aimed at urging property owners to settle their outstanding tax dues. Despite these warnings, the specified plots were officially attached due to non-compliance with the tax payment requirements.
