Pune Metro's Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi section expected to be operational next month

As the year draws to a close, Pune's residents may soon enjoy a quicker Metro route to the airport. Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha Metro) announced the anticipated operationalisation of the Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi station stretch by next month. Maha Metro is actively conducting high-speed tests on train carriages to Ramwadi, ensuring meticulous checks on track alignment, curves, elevation, signalling, and telecommunication. The extension of the Metro line to Ramwadi is set to offer city center residents a more convenient route to reach Nagar Road, introducing four upcoming stations – Bund Garden, Yerawada, Kalyaninagar, and Ramwadi. While the safety inspection timetable by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) remains unconfirmed, Maha Metro assures an advanced stage of preparation, anticipating no delays in completion by December. Even though all four stations aren't fully ready, Maha Metro pledges at least one entry-exit point for commuters at each station. However, regular commuters stress the need for improved last-mile connectivity, particularly in Yerawada and Ramwadi – crucial stations on the airport route. Maha Metro official have assured ongoing efforts to enhance feeder services, collaborating with Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML). Plans include introducing buses from Ramwadi station to the airport and establishing designated pick-up and drop-off points for cab aggregators, promising a seamless travel experience for Pune's metro commuters.
