Hiranandani Group’s Yotta Data Services expands to Bangladesh

India's Hiranandani Group-owned Yotta Data Services has announced its partnership with Bangladesh's Shamsul Alamin Group (SAG) to aid in the growth and expansion of its business in the country. As part of the partnership, SAG will provide its expertise in real estate and market leadership to help Yotta identify opportunities and jointly tap into Bangladesh's emerging digital transformation market.

Yotta's Dhaka Hyperscale Data Centre Park in Hi-Tech City, Gazipur, combines Yotta's data centre infrastructure with SAG's proven real estate domain expertise. SAG has provided crucial support in establishing a data centre presence in Bangladesh, from land identification, liaising with the government, obtaining regulatory approvals, to building design and core-and-shell construction. SAG will also aid in onboarding local technology partners, customer acquisition, and growing its footprint in the data centre, cloud, and digital transformation services marketplace.

In an interview captured by Realty+ Magazine, Sunil Gupta, co-founder and CEO of Yotta Data Services, stated that the partnership is aligned with the "Digital Bangladesh" vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister H.E. Sheikh Hasina. He also expressed gratitude to the Government of Bangladesh for entrusting Yotta to be part of the country's economic growth and thanked Sajeeb Wazed Joy, ICT Advisor to the Government of Bangladesh, for his progressive vision for Bangladesh's digital ecosystem. Alamgir Shamsul Alamin, managing director of SAG, expressed his excitement and pride in welcoming Yotta and the Hiranandani Group to Bangladesh and is looking forward to a successful and future-oriented partnership with Yotta.

Yotta has committed to an investment of over Tk2000 crore to develop its Hyperscale Data Centre Park in Dhaka in the next 4-6 years. The park will feature two hyperscale data centre buildings with 4800 racks and 28.8MW IT power capacity. The first data centre building is slated to go live in Q3 of FY2024 and will serve as the digital backbone of businesses and a catalyst for Digital Bangladesh.

The partnership between Yotta and SAG aims to foster mutual growth and assist in Bangladesh's digital and economic ambitions. Yotta's mission of building a digital ecosystem that is inclusive, innovative, and future-oriented aligns with SAG's vision to support the digitization of businesses and make technologies more accessible. Together, the partnership hopes to play a transformative role in supporting the growth of digital transformation efforts in Bangladesh.
