KHB plans a prestigious Rs 850 crore Integrated Township near Bengaluru Airport

The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) is set to construct a world-class integrated township near Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru. The project is a joint collaboration between KHB and landowners. It involves residential and commercial complexes alongside the integrated township.
An Integrated Township can be described as a 'city within a city'. They are well-defined and well-designed residential, commercial, retail and recreational areas with corresponding physical infrastructure facilities viz. water supply, sewage disposal facilities, roads, hospitals and power supply.
The total land requirement for the project is 95.23 acres in Chikkajala-Meenukunte village. The Housing Minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan, highlighted that farmers have consented to provide 43 acres making 65 acres already available for the project. The collaborative approach with local landowners demonstrates a commitment to inclusive and sustainable urban development, aligning with broader regional growth objectives.
A comprehensive action plan is slated to be formulated, outlining the project's various stages and intricacies. The KHB aims to finalize plans, seek government approval, and initiate tenders soon. The realization of the integrated township project will not only contribute to expanding the city's urban landscape but also enhance connectivity and infrastructure in the vicinity of Kempegowda International Airport. Simultaneously, Minister Khan assessed the progress in the construction of 1,047 houses near Nagareshwara Nagenahalli in the K R Puram Assembly Constituency, a significant affordable housing project led by the KHB.
