UP Government expands the YEIDA territory by 55 villages

Earlier last week, an official representing the Uttar Pradesh Government announced that the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) will now include 55 villages from the Khurja and Secunderabad tehsil divisions in the Bulandshahr district. The YEIDA now has 1,242 villages that have been notified in total. The Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), New Noida and the railway between Delhi and Howrah have all been included to the authority's domain.

The official announced that the railway ministry will receive a proposal to build a new line to link Chola to Noida International Airport. Approximately 16 kilometres will be travelled. The airport is also building a freight terminal which will facilitate the transit of cargo.

Dr. Arunveer Singh, CEO of the Yamuna Development Authority stated that the newly designated land will be included in the Master Plan 2041 when creating the development blueprint. He said that the Yamuna authority region now includes six districts which are - Gautam Budh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Hathras, Mathura and Agra.

The National Capital Region (NCR) includes Gautam Budh Nagar and Bulandshahr but the remaining cities fall within Phases II and III of the authority.

Singh claimed that the authority area has now been connected to the railways as a result of its expansion. Sikandarpur Railway Station and Gangraul Halt are connected to Chola. The boundaries of the Yamuna authority region near Vair Railway Station have been connected to new Noida by connecting the designated freight corridor.

According to him the authority will create commercial, institutional, residential, and industrial sectors in the designated region. This location would also be given priority due to the logistics and warehousing prospects as it is situated between an airport and a train station.
