His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has unveiled an ambitious master plan to transform the stunning Soudah mountain peaks into a tourist destination. This endeavour aims to offer visitors a luxurious and extraordinary experience amidst the embrace of Mother Nature. The Soudah Peaks, covering over 627 square kilometres of awe-inspiring natural beauty, will utilize less than 1% of this land for development. The project is slated for completion by 2030 and is set to generate numerous job opportunities while attracting tourists from all corners of the world, seeking an opulent mountain retreat.
The master plan is expected to draw investments totalling SAR 29 billion and more to the Kingdom, further enhancing its global standing. Additionally, this initiative will provide a platform to showcase the nation's rich culture and heritage, inviting visitors to experience the warm hospitality of its people. By 2033, this tourist haven is anticipated to accommodate over two million visitors, offering a luxurious escape intertwined with the country's traditions, architecture, culture, and heritage.
The master plan delineates six distinct zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Each of these zones will feature world-class amenities such as hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, and a plethora of entertainment options. Outdoor enthusiasts can revel in sports, adventure activities, wellness retreats, and cultural experiences.
The comprehensive plan aims to provide a total of 2,700 units of hospitality, including 1,336 residential units, and an expansive 80,000 square meters of commercial space by 2033. The development will be executed in three phases, with the first phase set to conclude by 2027, boasting 940 hotels, 391 residential units, and 32,000 square meters of retail and commercial space.
Crucially, the project remains committed to upholding and preserving the environment through sustainable standards, aligning with the broader initiative of fostering a Green Saudi. This endeavour not only promises to redefine the concept of luxury tourism but also stands as a testament to Saudi Arabia's dedication to harmoniously coexist with its natural surroundings.
