Gujarat-based DevX, a provider of managed office spaces, has unveiled plans to establish Deakin University's India campus in the vibrant GIFT City. In collaboration with Nila Infrastructure, DevX will not only oversee the construction of this futuristic 25,000-square-foot educational haven but also handle its conceptualization and design. Facilitating this venture, JLL India leveraged its extensive experience in GIFT City transactions and provided in-depth secondary research. Umesh Uttamchandani, one of DevX's co-founders, expressed their unwavering commitment to delivering a world-class campus tailored to the needs of a global university. Commenting on this new campus, Ravneet Pawha, Vice President (Global Alliances) and CEO (South Asia) of Deakin University, emphasized the institution's longstanding relationship with India. Deakin University has a rich history in India, being the first international university to establish a presence in the country back in 1994. Their approach has always been 'in India, with India, for India.' As the university approaches its 50th anniversary in 2024, the launch of a new Indian campus marks an exciting milestone. It provides an unprecedented opportunity to deepen engagement with one of the world's fastest-growing economies and offer world-class education and pathways, delivered in India in collaboration with industry partners.
Deep Vadodaria, CEO of Nila Infrastructure, shared his enthusiasm for Deakin University's decision to commence operations at their premises in GIFT City. He highlighted the immense value of their partnership with DevX in delivering a comprehensive managed office space solution to end-users. Karan Sodi, Senior Managing Director for Mumbai Metropolitan Region and Gujarat at JLL, pointed out that this collaboration demonstrates their expertise, market insights, and practical knowledge. JLL's support empowered Deakin University to become the first international institution to establish operations within the vibrant GIFT City ecosystem. The venture is expected to create fresh opportunities in the real estate market, with an anticipated surge in demand for various property offerings.
These offerings will encompass student housing, retail establishments, commercial spaces, and amenities designed to meet the evolving needs of the student community.
