MahaRERA offers counselling for homebuyers & developers

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has set up a counselling centre offering online and offline in-person sessions at their office in BKC, Mumbai to assist homebuyers and developers in understanding the modalities and operations of the authority. Their goal is to help homebuyers in retrieving information about the construction progress of their purchase, filling complaints, and seeking redressal. Their counsellors will help developers clarify their issues regarding the regulatory requirements as mandated by the RERA Act 2016.

Upon registering their purchase, homebuyers often have many questions regarding timely delivery of the property, quality of construction, use of materials promised, etc. Through this set-up, homebuyers can now better understand how to access this information via the MahaRERA website. In addition to this, they will be guided on how to use the complaint mechanism provided seek appropriate redressal.

Realty developers are expected to register all new housing projects with the authority and update details for the same every 3 months. Counsellors at MahaRERA will now help them understand how to register the project correctly and seek guidance on how to account for money received from homebuyers. In addition it will assist in helping them find the right people to conduct constitutional audits and other such aspects related to the regulatory process.
