Dubai's famous Deira Clock Tower has undergone a stunning transformation with a Dh10 million makeover. Since its inauguration in the 1960s, the Clock Tower has been a symbol of Dubai. Now, it has received a fresh look that blends the city's history with modernity.
The Dubai Municipality completed this highly anticipated project, marking a significant milestone in the city's urban development. This extensive project, which commenced in May 2023, has revitalized the entire area with a meticulous attention to detail. The Clock Tower roundabout, a significant landmark, has been rejuvenated with a beautiful aesthetic.
One of the standout features of this makeover is a magnificent water fountain at the centre of the roundabout, now showcasing a contemporary design. The solid flooring blends seamlessly with horticultural elements, creating a visually appealing and modern appearance.
The renovation of the Clock Tower Roundabout involved various enhancements, including floor renovations and the introduction of a new design for the water fountain, complete with multi-coloured lighting. The structural framework of the roundabout received a fresh coat of paint, incorporating unique features like precast concrete pebbled wash and a three-dimensional design.
The redevelopment also incorporated sustainable landscaping elements, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the surroundings. Washingtonia palms now adorn the area adjacent to the Clock Tower's pillars, while three tiers of wildflowers create captivating colour patterns, providing visitors with a delightful visual experience.
Furthermore, the new lighting system at the roundabout includes mapping and three-dimensional formats, along with photographic displays that can be utilized during national ceremonies and events.
The revitalization of this iconic landmark showcases Dubai's commitment to preserving its history while embracing modernity. The meticulous attention to detail and the integration of sustainable elements highlight the city's dedication to creating an attractive and inviting urban environment.
