Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has earmarked 100 acres of land in Rajur Bahula, situated 20 km from Nashik city, to establish an IT Park. MIDC is currently in the process of acquiring 350 acres for industrial use, with 100 acres designated for the IT Park. The chosen location is adjacent to the Mumbai-Agra national highway. Nitin Gawli, MIDC's regional officer for the Nashik region, disclosed that the land acquisition process for Rajur Bahula is nearing completion, anticipating possession in the coming months.
MIDC officials debated between two options, Akrale in Dindori and Rajur Bahula near Vilholi on Nashik's outskirts, ultimately favoring Rajur Bahula for the IT Park. Gawli affirmed that the acquisition process for the latter is progressing well. He stated that the decision to construct an IT Park complex or allocate plots to IT enterprises will be made once the land acquisition concludes.
Boosting the IT and logistics sectors remains a priority, and the proposed IT Park is expected to enhance both job opportunities and the city's economy. Nikhil Panchal, president of Ambad Industries & Manufacturers' Association (AIMA), emphasized the positive impact of the IT Park on Nashik's growth.
Last year, Uday Samant, the state industries minister, announced during a meeting with Nashik's industries that a 100-acre IT Park would be established in the city. Samant's declaration included a commitment to invigorate the IT sector's growth. He instructed MIDC to identify suitable land for the proposed IT Park in Nashik.
In the larger context, the establishment of an IT Park in Nashik aligns with the growing trend of cities across India focusing on tech-driven development. The expansion of IT infrastructure and business parks contributes to job creation, economic diversification, and the overall modernization of regions. Nashik's strategic location near Mumbai, combined with its emerging industrial landscape, enhances its potential to become a prominent hub for IT and related industries.
The decision to allocate land for the IT Park reflects the recognition of technology's pivotal role in driving economic progress. As India's economy continues to evolve, the government and regional authorities are proactively encouraging investments in technology and innovation.
MIDC's plan to allocate 100 acres in Rajur Bahula for an IT Park in Nashik signifies a strategic move to boost the city's economy, create jobs, and bolster its IT sector. The ongoing land acquisition process is nearing completion, signalling progress towards this transformative endeavour. This initiative aligns with broader national trends of harnessing technology to drive economic development, and Nashik's location and industrial potential further contribute to its promising future as an IT hub.
