Boosting trade and tourism, PM Modi launches Gujarat's new International Airport

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently inaugurated the International Airport in Gujarat, marking a historic moment for the state. The airport, spread across an area of 2500 acres and located 30 km from Rajkot, cost Rs. 1,405 crores to build. It is ten times bigger than the airport in Rajkot and can accommodate 14 planes simultaneously. Equipped with modern facilities, including a solar power system and rainwater harvesting, the airport aims to showcase the local architectural heritage and art forms of dandiya and Lippan.

The airport's inauguration is expected to contribute significantly to the trade and tourism of India and is seen as a step towards making India the third-largest economy in the world. In addition to the airport, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated other key projects, including packages 8 and 9 of the Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation Yojana. This project will provide water to a significant area of irrigable land and potable water to thousands of people in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat.

Furthermore, various other projects were inaugurated, including a multi-level flyover, a water treatment plant, and a library with an extensive collection of books. The Prime Minister addressed the crowd at the Racecourse ground during the inauguration and expressed pride in the government's efforts to fulfil the dreams of the common people. He criticized the opposition leaders for having double standards and playing politics, stating that his government always worked in favour of the country's growth and betterment.
