Sweeping crackdown on illegal structures ushers in new era for Mumbai's Aarey Milk Colony

A substantial initiative to eradicate illegal constructions in the Aarey Milk Colony has been launched by the office of the Aarey CEO, leading to the dismantling of more than 150 unauthorized structures. The CEO's office, under its new leadership, had undertaken action against around 125 illegitimate huts on government property by the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road in Aarey Milk Colony before the monsoon began. Another 40 unlawful huts in different Aarey areas were also demolished.

In June, the crackdown continued, with approximately 70 shops and hawkers running unlicensed operations at Mayur Nagar in the Aarey Milk Colony facing the repercussions. An official from the CEO's office confirmed that they had successfully torn down more than 150 illegal structures across Aarey Milk Colony and would ramp up their activities post monsoons.
