Gurugram authorities dismantle illegal farmhouse colony near Sultanpur National Park

The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) in Gurugram has taken strict action against illegal buildings and constructions. Two district town planners in the city have intensified efforts to demolish any kind of illegal construction. Recently, a farmhouse colony that was being illegally developed near Sultanpur National Park was dismantled as it was found to be in a no-construction zone. The enforcement team, under the supervision of District Town Planner Mr. Sumit Malik, cleared a 200-meter-long boundary wall, along with the sewerage and road network of the colony.

This recent action is part of DTCP's initiative to crack down on illegal constructions in Gurugram. The department has deployed two additional district town planners to enhance its efforts. They are not only targeting illegal commercial activities in licensed colonies but also demolishing buildings constructed without proper authorization, even after obtaining occupation certificates. By taking such stringent measures, the authorities aim to discourage people from investing in illegal projects and promote legal and authorized developments.

Illegal colonies have been a concern in various areas of Gurugram, including Sohna, Pataudi, Farrukhnagar, Bhondsi, Badshahpur, Village Chandu, Budhera, and Sadrana. The enforcement team has been actively demolishing such illegal colonies to curb the spread of unauthorized constructions. Recently, three illegal colonies spread across 11 acres behind SGT University were also demolished. This operation included the removal of illegally constructed shops, boundary walls, and other structures.

The district town planner, Mr. Sumit Malik, has been leading the charge against illegal colonies in different locations in the city. The DTCP officials and town planning teams are regularly monitoring and surveying construction sites to identify and immediately take down any illegal structures.

To raise awareness among the public, an appeal has been made to be cautious of illegal colonies as they fall under Section 7A of the Haryana Development and Regulation of Urban Areas Act. Anyone planning to invest in such projects must obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Tehsildars have also been notified not to register any properties in these illegal colonies, as actions will be taken against them as well.

To ensure a smooth operation during the demolitions, policemen were present at the demolition sites to deal with any potential untoward incidents. The DTCP's strict stance on illegal constructions is aimed at promoting planned and authorized urban development in Gurugram.
