Delhi's latest housing scheme experiences record demand with over 650 units reserved

In a resounding testament to the popularity of its first-come, first-serve (FCFS) approach, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced that within hours of opening its latest housing scheme on July 10th, over 650 units had already been secured. The scheme, launched on June 30th, offers a total of 5,500 flats across a broad range of categories in various locations across Delhi.

Officials reported that the 2-BHK flats in Dwarka were the first to be sold out, followed closely by a surge of interest for units in Narela and Rohini. The public's fervor for this housing initiative resulted in an astonishing 13 million hits on the DDA's website by Monday evening, a record traffic volume for the organization.

The FCFS housing scheme was introduced on the DDA's website at noon on Monday, and by 5:30 pm, the site had registered more than 11 million hits. By the end of the night, that figure had risen to over 17 million, according to a senior DDA official.

As per the official, by 8:30 pm, over 300 flats at Rohini, more than 200 flats at Narela, and all 50 flats at Dwarka had been booked. Other locations like Jasola, Siraspur, and Loknayak Puram also reported a promising response from potential buyers. The scheme provides an assortment of options, offering 1-BHK flats in Narela, Siraspur, Rohini, and Loknayak Puram; 2-BHK flats in Narela and Dwarka; and 3-BHK flats in Jasola.

To streamline the process, DDA will send demand-cum-allotment letters to those who've secured flats within 24 hours. Registration and booking continue to progress as people choose their preferred flats online through the DDA's website.

DDA officials acknowledged the website experienced heavy traffic during the first six hours after opening the booking portal. As a result, they are enhancing server capacity to handle the influx and assist the public in securing their flats.

In conclusion, The immediate and overwhelming demand for flats under the DDA's latest FCFS housing scheme underscores the public's enthusiasm for affordable and quality housing solutions. The DDA's commitment to promptly address the rush by bolstering their online systems further establishes the success of this housing initiative.
