The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has assigned 1,078 homes to families from economically weaker sections (EWS) in the Jwalapuri Bagh and Ashok Vihar localities. These housing allocations are part of the Seetu Punarwas Yojana, a governmental initiative designed to supplant slums with suitable housing facilities.
This decisive action by the DDA aims to improve the life quality of disadvantaged families by offering affordable and sustainable living alternatives. The qualified recipients were issued demand-based allocation letters on June 27, according to an official communique.
As part of its comprehensive approach to assist the families, the DDA has set up a facilitation centre in proximity to the Jwalapuri Bagh locality. The Member of Parliament, Harsh Vardhan, ceremonially inaugurated this centre on Thursday.
The establishment is poised to offer a myriad of services to the local residents. These services include, but are not limited to, the distribution of demand-based allocation letters, facilitating biometric verification, managing loan provisions from financial institutions for interested allottees, and aiding in the submission of relevant documents for property possession. Moreover, it will also be responsible for issuing the official certificates of possession for the new homes.
The primary goal of the Seetu Punarwas Yojana is to uplift the living standards of economically vulnerable individuals by presenting them with feasible and budget-friendly housing options. The initiative aims to gradually replace the existing slum infrastructure with more dignified, permanent housing facilities, thereby creating a more inclusive urban environment.
