Iraq unveils plan for five new residential cities to tackle housing crisis

Iraq has unveiled its ambitious plan to address the country's housing problem by completing the designs for five new residential cities. The Ministry of Construction and Housing, responsible for the initiative, is also currently working on the designs for an additional 10 similar projects to be presented to developers. Istabraq Sabah, the spokesperson for the Ministry, revealed this exciting development in an interview with the official Al-Sabah daily.
According to Sabah, the Construction and Housing Ministry has already set aside land for the five cities, with the initial phase set to see the construction of 100,000 houses. These new towns will be located in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, as well as other regions across the country. The ultimate goal is to build a total of 15 residential cities in various governorates, forming a comprehensive strategy to tackle the pressing housing issue in Iraq.
"The designs for five residential cities are ready," Sabah announced. He further elaborated that the Ministry's dedicated team is diligently working on finalizing the designs for the remaining projects. This progressive approach demonstrates Iraq's commitment to addressing the housing crisis and ensuring the availability of quality housing for its citizens.
