A delegation representing the Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Associations (NOFAA), the New Era Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA), and the Federation of Noida and Greater Noida Apartment Owners Association held a crucial meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday to discuss the persistent delays in property registries at the GBU campus in Greater Noida.
Expressing concerns over the backlog of more than 2.5 lakh pending registries, the delegation appealed for the appointment of a nodal officer from the administration to act as an intermediary between builders, residents, and authorities. This measure was proposed to prevent further delays and ensure efficient resolution of the pending registry issue. Additionally, the team demanded strict action against builders involved in completed projects where registries are still pending. CM Yogi Adityanath assured the team that appropriate measures would be taken to address their grievances.
To expedite the registry process for over 50,000 flats, the team proposed a one-time relief to builders from the Noida Authority. Alternatively, they suggested recovering the outstanding dues from builders by attaching their assets or properties.
NEFOWA, which has been organizing weekly protests on Sundays to draw attention to the issue of pending registries, also urged the CM to intervene and prevent police action against protesting homebuyers. Recently, the police filed First Information Reports (FIRs) against some of the protesting homebuyers. They also requested the CM to withdraw of all police actions against homebuyers.
The meeting between the delegation and CM Yogi Adityanath has raised hopes among Noida homebuyers that their long-standing grievances will be addressed, ultimately leading to the resolution of pending registries and the fulfillment of their dream of owning their homes.
