Chandigarh Housing Board offers 2-BHKs in Sector 51 for Rs 1 crore

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) is set to embark on a fresh round of e-auctions for its residential and commercial properties, commencing on Wednesday. This enticing opportunity encompasses a total of 40 residential properties available on a freehold basis and 88 commercial properties available on a leasehold basis. Interested bidders can submit their bids starting from June 14 until July 5, with the bids being opened on the same day. Notably, the CHB has included eight additional residential properties in this auction, supplementing the offerings from the previous May auction.

The residential properties up for grabs encompass two-bedroom units specifically catered to the economically weaker section (EWS) and category IV properties located in Indira Colony, Manimajra. Among the highlights of this auction are the luxurious 2-bedroom houses situated in Sector 51A, with reserve prices ranging from Rs 92.78 lakh to Rs 1.07 crore.

Reflecting on recent auctions, the success rate has varied. In the May auction, only two out of 35 residential properties were sold, while in the April auction, four out of 38 residential freehold properties found buyers. Similarly, the March auction garnered bidders for just eight out of the 44 residential properties on offer, and in February, out of 49 residential properties, only seven were successfully sold.

This fresh round of e-auctions presents an exciting opportunity for prospective buyers to acquire desirable properties through a transparent and efficient process. The CHB remains committed to facilitating the sale of these properties and promoting access to quality residential and commercial spaces in Chandigarh.

The Chandigarh Housing Board, established under the Haryana Housing Board Act, aims to provide affordable and high-quality housing for the residents of Chandigarh. Their vision is to create self-contained urban communities with modern amenities while prioritizing environmental harmony. The board is responsible for planning, constructing, and improving buildings, managing estates, and offering loans for land or public housing purchases, in accordance with the Housing and Development Act.
