Dubai Government allocates land and housing loans to citizens as part of ongoing initiatives

The Government of Dubai has distributed 11,500 plots of land to its citizens and provided housing loans totaling Dh7 billion to 7,000 beneficiaries. To assist citizens with low incomes, the government has allocated Dh438 million, while Dh70 million has been earmarked for individuals with disabilities. These efforts were undertaken during a meeting of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, as part of their ongoing initiatives.

In April of the previous year, 426 UAE citizens were relieved of Dh146 million in housing loan payments. Additionally, the committee introduced a social program named Bayti, which aims to support citizens with limited incomes who have received housing grants but require extra funds for constructing, completing, or furnishing their homes.

“We have initiated a program aimed at streamlining healthcare services for 19,000 elderly residents, alongside numerous other endeavors that encompass all facets of life for the people of Dubai. The primary focus of the Dubai government is to furnish citizens with the utmost quality of life, guaranteeing their stability and prosperity,” Sheikh Hamdan expressed.

He emphasized how the committee expedited plans for Emiratisation and introduced additional investment prospects for Emiratis. In 2022, it oversaw the employment of 2,000 Emiratis. Furthermore, a consolidated platform catering to UAE citizens unveiled 500 fresh investment opportunities in various neighborhoods within Dubai. “Our commitment to ensuring the well-being, happiness, and promising future of our citizens remains unwavering,” he further remarked.

The committee was established under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai. During its inaugural year, the committee focused on various projects encompassing retirement, social services, housing, quality of life, and the implementation of an innovative endowment structure.

Among the initiatives were the development of model residential neighborhoods that presented investment prospects for Emiratis. The initial phase of this undertaking encompassed Al Mizhar 1, Al Khawaneej 2, and Al Barsha 2. Additionally, seasonal investment opportunities were introduced through events such as the Farmers’ Souq and Souq Al Freej, which aimed to unite Emirati farmers in a single location, allowing them to directly market their produce to consumers.

A different initiative known as the ‘Emirati’ project has been introduced, which serves as a comprehensive and exclusive single-window platform within the DubaiNow application. Its primary objective is to provide UAE citizens with all the necessary city services. During its initial stage, the ‘Emirati’ initiative enables citizens to access a range of digital services, including housing and construction grants, social benefits, events in residential neighborhoods, land allocations, and more.
