The UAE government has launched a national housing platform called "Darak" with the aim of improving community and family stability, as well as raising the standard of living for UAE residents. The signing ceremony for the introduction of Darak was led by Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, along with Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
The platform was established by the Ministry of Possibilities in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and housing authorities across the nation. It was approved during a meeting of the council of ministers on May 24 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
Darak's primary objective is to manage housing projects in order to provide citizens with access to suitable housing options and alleviate the financial burdens associated with construction costs. The platform will offer discounts of up to 10% on general construction expenses and up to 25% on furniture costs during the project's development. It will also provide citizens with access to project and business opportunities, certified consultants, contractors, financing options, and up-to-date information on construction-related news, deals, and costs.
The Social Solidarity Fund for MOI Staff (Fazaa) has played a significant role in building and designing this platform and will oversee its operational and technical aspects with a dedicated team of professionals. The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, in collaboration with relevant federal and local housing programs, will manage the operations of Darak.
The platform aims to remove barriers and difficulties faced by individuals who aspire to build their own homes. By promoting family and community stability and ensuring a sustainable way of life for its people, the UAE government is actively working towards its ultimate goal with the introduction of Darak.
