The property, located in Manchester-by-the-Sea, is now available for $5.85 million, down from its most recent asking price of $6.75 million and its original price of $7.8 million when it was first put on the market in April of last year. The property is owned by a limited liability company connected to Maxwell's former partner, Scott Borgerson, who purchased the house for $2.45 million in 2016.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Borgerson, who is a technology entrepreneur, could not be contacted for a statement. The article also stated that although Ms. Maxwell and Mr. Borgerson lived together at the property for a short period before her arrest in 2020, she has no ownership interest in the house, as reported when it was first listed for sale last year.

Tidewood, believed to be one of the oldest residences in Massachusetts, was originally constructed in 1660 in Salem and was subsequently relocated to Manchester in 1917 and rebuilt at its current location in 1930. The house spans over 6,100 square feet and features a blend of historic features like original flooring and fireplaces with contemporary amenities such as solar panels and smart home technology. The property boasts five bedrooms, ocean views, two offices, and several terraces.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Ms. Maxwell, who was convicted of aiding Jeffrey Epstein in sexually exploiting underage girls for over a decade, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in June of last year. The case against Maxwell is still ongoing, and she is currently serving her sentence in a federal detention centre in Brooklyn, New York.
