Kerala: About 1,379 houses completed so far under Life project

The education minister of Kerala, V Sivankutty, recently handed over the keys of completed houses under the Life Sampoorna Parpidam scheme at a function in Chemamkuzhi, Kattakkada. This was part of the 100-day program commemorating the second anniversary of the state government.

The Life Sampoorna Parpidam scheme has seen the completion of 1,379 houses across various local government bodies in the district. The scheme aims to construct houses for 8,703 beneficiaries under the LIFE 2020 scheme by the end of the financial year 2023-24. Overall, the district has seen the completion of 34,745 houses under various schemes, with 23,841 houses in gram panchayats and 10,904 houses in municipal corporations.

The LIFE 2020 scheme has seen the signing of contracts by 3,215 people, including 1,364 scheduled castes, 417 scheduled tribes, and 511 belonging to the fishing community. Out of these, 1,033 homes have been completed, while the construction of houses for the remaining beneficiaries is ongoing. Additionally, 3,549 people have signed contracts for the LIFE 2020 scheme online, and 29 homes have been completed for them so far.

The government has also implemented the ‘Manasoduithiri Mannu’ scheme to provide land to landless individuals. Through this scheme, 2.5 acres of land has been made available in Poovachal, 22 cents of land in Nagaroor, 3 cents in Kallikkad, and 15 cents in Pangode.

Furthermore, the government is constructing a housing complex in Poovachal to accommodate 114 beneficiaries. Housing complexes with 44 units each will also be constructed in both Azhoor and Madavoor panchayats. The construction of houses and provision of land under these schemes will improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries and provide them with a sense of security and stability.

In conclusion, the state government's efforts to provide housing and land to the needy through various schemes are commendable. The completion of the Life Sampoorna Parpidam scheme's houses is a significant achievement that will benefit numerous individuals and families. The government's commitment to continuing these efforts will make a positive impact on the lives of many more people in the future.
