Real Estate as an investment class depends more upon growth appreciation rates rather than yield. In other words, real estate investments cash on cash might yield lower returns than other investments but however they catch on within a period of 8-10 years with capital appreciation. Thus, you need to be clear about the objective of your investment as to whether you are in the hunt for high yield or even a growth in underlying value would suffice though realised only at the time of sale.
