Taurus Investment Holdings and Sage Capital to invest in Indian Real Estate

Taurus Investment Holdings and Sage Capital are looking to raise Rs 500 crore domestic fund to invest in the Indian Real Estate. The Boston based companies are eying Tier 1 and Tier 2 high-growth cities in Western and Southern India such as Visakhapatnam, Coimbatore, Tirchy, Trivandrum and more. The goal will be to invest in commercial, mid-scale residential and mixed-use development projects.

 

The MD of Taurus Investment Holdings India confirmed they were in the process of securing requisite clearances from SEBI for their AIF and have begun investor meetings. The planned real estate fund will look at raising funds from both domestic and international investors aims to build a a portfolio of projects valued over $1 billion over the next 5 years.

 

The company having secured an investment of 1,500 crore rupees is currently building a 5.5 million square foot mixed-use project in the heart of Trivandrum in collaboration with the Embassy Group and Asset Homes. The company has built and acquired over 70 million square feet of office, industrial, retail, office, and residential assets worth $10 billion to date.

 

With funds like Kotak Investment Manager and Motilal Oswal looking to raise a large amount of money to invest in the Indian market, fundraising operations have picked up steam in India. Even though many businesses are attempting to make the switch to a hybrid work model, the office and residential sectors in India have recovered demonstrating a strong conviction in the industry's long-term durability.
