Accacia raised USD 2.5 million in seed funding

Accacia, a proptech start up focused on assisting the real estate and infrastructure sectors in decarbonisation has raised upwards of USD 2.5 million in a seed funding round. The primary investors are B Capital and Accel. Several notable venture capitalist firms such as Good Capital, Blume Ventures, Loyal VC and Rainmatter Fund are said to have participated in the funding round. Accacia was founded in 2022 by Annu Talreja, Jagmohan Garg and Piyush Chitkara. Since its inception, the company has provided solutions to entities controlling more than 20 million square feet of real estate space. Their clientele includes companies across Southeast Asia.

Construction activities is considered one of the highest polluters, contributing to almost 40 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. Speaking to a reporter from moneycontrol.com, a representative of Accel shared the companies views on the same. As per their research they found that only 3,000 out of the alleged 40,000 listed companies involved in real estate and infrastructure development currently report their emissions. Therefore, they see a huge potential in developing SaaS as a solution to accelerate net-zero efforts across these sectors.
